TRI CITY SAMS
SEPTEMBER 20, 2014
The September meeting, held at King Phillips, Lake George, was called to order by President Connie at 11:25 AM with the Pledge to the Flag.
Present: Chuck, Connie, Darlene, Diane, Doris, Gil, and Janet. Guests were Alexis, Casey, Colleen and Joe. Total present for meeting was 7. We had a total of six units this weekend.
The minutes of the July meeting were read and approved by motion by Diane and seconded by Janet. The treasurer report was given by Chuck by using the checking account printout, showing a balance of $988.25 as of September 11. Membership dues will be deposited that was collected today. Motion by Diane, seconded by Gil, to place the treasurer’s report on file for audit.
Correspondence – Performia, the patch company, charge $2.45 for our 35th patch for 50 patches ($122.50). Chuck said we currently have one back patch left; everything now has the new logo on it. The back patch is $9.20 each and 36 have been ordered ($331.20). After a discussion, the club has already ordered the above patches and will be shipped together to save money. All members should have a vest; they may make them or buy one.
* Chaplain / Sunshine -- no report.
* Sickness/Distress – Ev was in the hospital, she is home now resting.
* Samboree – Next weekend is their fall festival, we may have four rigs attending.
* Schedule – Our last campout is in October over Columbus Day weekend. The 2015 list is starting to come together. The discussion centered on: May - West Canada Creek; June - King Phillips; July - Pine Hollow and Herkimer; August – Nickerson; September – River View; and October open. Watch the web site for final dates and places. Joe spoke on Hudson Valley and maybe a joint campout. Vermont Samboree is Aug. 8 and New Hampshire is Aug. 15.
Reminder to send $40 for your reservations 45 days prior to each campout, which days you will be attending, size of your rig and site you wish to occupy. When a member is not sure 45 days in advance, it will be that member’s responsibility to make their own reservations directly with the campground and notify the Vice President you will be attending.
Diane said the member who will be the ‘weekend host’ needs to know the events that are happening in the area, etc. so they may be added to the schedule. Hosts are needed for each campout.
We need to see the emails of the attendees going to the campouts to know who is coming and it makes it easier to plan for food and events and accuracy.
October is election month. The slate is President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Christmas Dinner Get Together – Chuck will check with the Guilderland Elks to see if we may have our dinner the same night as their Christmas Party. A grab-bag will be optional.
Dues – it has been decided that dues will be $10 a single or $20 for a couple payable October 1.
Barry will have surgery on December 9th.
50/50 – $6.50 won by Darlene.
Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Diane, seconded by Janet, motion carried. Adjourned at 12:50 PM.
“God Bless America” was sung as our closing song.
